Your pre-shoot ritual doesn’t need to be stressful. Here's exactly what to do and not do to feel grounded, gorgeous, and safe in your body the next day.

The night before your photoshoot doesn’t need to feel like preparation for a performance.
You’re not studying for an exam.
You’re not getting ready to impress anyone.
You’re simply preparing to show up as yourself.
The goal isn’t perfection. The goal is to arrive the next day feeling calm, rested, and safe in your body. A few small choices the night before can make a big difference.
Here’s how to create a simple, supportive ritual for yourself.
Your skin and energy reflect how you treat your body the day before.
Drink plenty of water throughout the evening and choose a nourishing meal that leaves you feeling light and comfortable. Avoid heavy alcohol or anything that might disrupt your sleep.
Think of this as an act of care rather than preparation.
The night before your shoot is not the moment to try a new facial, peel, wax, or skincare product.
Your skin loves consistency. Sudden changes can cause irritation, redness, or sensitivity that takes time to calm down.
Instead, keep your routine simple and familiar. Cleanse, moisturize, and let your skin rest.
If you’ve selected pieces from Birdies or chosen outfits for your shoot, lay them out the night before. Make sure everything fits comfortably and feels like you.
The most beautiful images come from pieces that allow you to breathe and move naturally.
Remember that this experience isn’t about costumes. It’s about expression.
Try to create space for a slower night.
Take a bath or shower. Light a candle. Listen to music that makes you feel calm or inspired. Put your phone down earlier than usual.
Your nervous system will carry this sense of calm into the next day.
Many women find it helpful to take a moment to journal or reflect.
You might ask yourself:
Why did I say yes to this experience?
What version of myself am I ready to meet tomorrow?
You don’t need perfect answers. Just letting the questions exist can shift your mindset.
Sleep is one of the most powerful forms of preparation.
A rested body moves differently. Your face relaxes. Your energy feels more open.
Go to bed a little earlier if you can, and give yourself permission to simply rest.
You do not need to arrive confident.
You do not need to know how to pose.
You do not need to be perfect.
Your only job is to show up.
Everything else will unfold from there.
This space is where I share everything that doesn’t fit into a single frame: the neuroscience that makes my process so effective, the stories of the women I work with, and the quiet truths that shape how we see ourselves.
Let’s begin with a 1:1, no-pressure call to explore your vision, your story, and how this experience could change everything.
Let's meet in SoCal! Your rebirth starts here.
